Google Authenticator
- Login to Your Account: Log in to your website account using your credentials.
- Access Security Settings: Look for an option like "Security," "Account Settings," or "Profile Settings" within your account dashboard. Find the 2FA settings.
- Enable 2FA: Choose the option to enable 2FA or add an extra layer of security.
- Choose Google Authenticator: Select Google Authenticator as the 2FA method. You might see a QR code and a secret key.
- Install Google Authenticator: On your smartphone, download and install the Google Authenticator app from your app store.
- Scan QR Code: Open the Google Authenticator app and scan the QR code displayed on your website. Alternatively, you can manually enter the secret key provided on the website.
- Verify Setup: Google Authenticator will generate a time-based one-time password (TOTP). Enter this code on the website to verify the setup.
- Backup Codes: The website might provide backup codes in case you lose access to your phone. Store these codes securely.
